Kyashii
Upstairs is the Champagne Lounge, perfect for pre-dinner cocktails & post-dinner chilling. The ground floor brasserie, complete with sushi bar, is all clean lines and big windows. Fine dining is downstairs, in the tropical fish-filled walls of the stunning Blue Room (think special date or ultra-chic party), the sleek and simple White Room, or the chef’s table-style Premier Dining Suite. The glamour of the interior raises menu expectations, and you won’t be disappointed. Executive General Manager Andrew Hung and his team have developed a menu that updates traditional formats, creating challenging, glamorous dishes with authentic flavours. So yellowtail sashimi comes with truffle oil and salmon as a tropical fruit-filled carpaccio, and the rolls are (literally) full of surprises too; the sweet crunch of Japanese pear in the Spicy Tuna Roll or the double crab meat combo in the California Roll. The Kyashii menu encourages sharing; even main dishes are easily divided up. Mains have a definite French influence, but the flavours are classic Japanese; try Okinawa Piri-kara Lamb Chops or iconic Black Cod, served as tempura with chilli radish and ponzu sauce. The wine list includes a fantastic Koshu wine that pairs perfectly with seafood, and sake fans can turn to the regularly updated sake menu. At lunchtime try a donburi rice bowl for around £10; enjoy al fresco on the terrace.
